Meet Pastor Mark H. Meyers

Mark and Kim 3

Background

Born and raised in Chicago, Illinois, Mark was saved by grace at a young age and serving God in full-time ministry entered his mind when he was at Maine South High School.  After getting his Bachelor of Science degree in Biblical Studies from Clarks Summit University in 1985, Mark served as the youth pastor at Riverside Baptist Church in Decatur, Illinois for 14 years.

During that time he worked towards a Master of Arts in Ministry from Moody Graduate School and received it in 2004. His research project was entitled “Touring Mars Hill: A Program to Teach Young Adults to Evaluate Popular Culture through the Lens of Scripture.”

In 2003, Grace Bible Church brought the Meyers family on down to Warrenton, Missouri, where Mark has served as senior pastor. In 2018 he received his Doctor of Religious Studies degree with an emphasis in Pastoral Ministry from Trinity Theological Seminary. His major writing project was entitled, “Developing a Biblical Philosophy of Sports Ministry.”

Family

In 1988, Mark married Kimberly, and they have been dating ever since.  Kim is a faux painter, a Journey fan, a marathon runner, and a beach lover.  She is content with a cup of coffee and the company of those she loves or those she wants to get to know.

They are the parents of Justin, Sarah, and Ben, and the in-laws of Liz and Jason.  They are the proud grandparents to Evelyn, Naomi, Atticus, Josefina, and Samuel.

Family time includes lots of food and sports.  Growing up as a family had its fair share of laughing together, forgiving one another, and dealing with the trials of every day.

Interests

This list, though exhaustive, is not comprehensive…

Let’s begin with sports: while Mark is a die-hard Cubs fan, he owns as many MLB jerseys as he can get his hands on, and the only one he doesn’t sport has a cardinal on it…  His love for sports bleeds into the NBA, NFL, and of course, Warrenton High School athletics.

Mark has a knack for trivia as a result of his love for history as well as current events.  Audio books are his thing so he can absorb as much information while mowing the lawn.  With a Diet Coke in hand, he loves splitting a deep dish pizza with a friend.  From Survivor to Seinfeld, he enjoys TV and his day rarely lacks a post on Instagram.

Meet Pastor Jason U. Janes
Young Jason Janes

Background

Jason was born and raised in Warrenton, Missouri, and has a love for the area. He’s an ’05 WHS grad, and earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Pastoral Ministry with a Minor in Bible and Theology from Calvary University.  He served at Grace for years as an intern and learned much under Pastor Mark as his mentor.

In 2013, Jason was called as Youth Pastor to United Baptist Church in Garden City, MI where he was stretched and grew in urban youth ministry. He and his wife served there for three years, when Grace Bible Church called them in 2016 to minister once again in their hometown.

Family

In 2012, Jason and Sarah said, “I do!” to marriage and in 2014 they were blessed to say, “We will” in raising their children in the Lord. Evelyn Adara is their clever nine-year old and Naomi Kathleen is their passionate eight-year oldl! And Atticus Dillon is their silly five-year old. Samuel Harrison just joined the family the summer of 2021 and the other kids are loving every milestone with their little brother.

Being married and parents has blessed and challenged Jason and Sarah in innumerable ways. They want to minister to and through their family to reach their community for God.

Interests

Jason has more hobbies than he has time for! Outdoor hobbies include, but are not limited to: hiking, fishing, hunting, arrowhead hunting, backpacking, kayaking, and he is really wanting to go splunking–want to join him?

Jason’s indoor activities include, but are not limited to: basketball, tabletop games, eating at different pizza places, and watching shows with Sarah.
